Art in the Pen is a fabulous showcase of artists and craftsmen who take over the cattle mart in Skipton for a weekend in August. It is one of my favourite events and once again I will be exhibiting this year.
The event has artists from around the country working in a range of materials and specialisms and it is easy to spend a day looking at the fabulous artwork and admiring the skill in the pieces on show. All work is for sale and there is truly something for everyone with items starting at £2 right up to £1000. What is more there is the opportunity to meet the makers and talk to them about their work.
The Art in the Pen event has been running in Skipton for many years, this is in fact their tenth year. The unusual surroundings and volume of high quality exhibitors in one space has meant the event has gone from strength to strength and draws many visitors over the weekend.
This summer the event is on over the 15th and 16th of August and promises to be just as spectacular as ever. There is also a preview night on Friday 14th August where invited guests can come and peruse the work on show the night before.
I have ten of these invitations, if you would like any contact me before July 31st and I will send some out, first come first served.
So, if you want a good day out, in the Yorkshire Dales visit art in the Pen at Skipton Auction Mart, Gargrave Road BD23 1UD and pop in to my pen to say hello!
